The Hegel Reading Group meets weekly on Tuesdays 6-7.30 pm by Skype. We continue with Hegel's 'Phenomenology of Spirit', from paragraph 582. Philosophy, Law and Politics Graduate Forum - Fifth Session | 6-7:30pm | Online
In our fifth session of this academic year, which will take place on 4th May from 18:00 to 19:30 (BST) on Zoom, we will be discussing Daniela Gueiros-Dias' paper, entitled "Normative Conflicts in the Legal Domain: On Kelsen's Theses on the Necessary Consistency of Law", with comments by Cristoph Kletzer (KCL) and Stephanie Classmann (LSE). While pre-reading is desirable, it is not a requirement for attending the session.

This talk will explore the relationship between AI and power. We consider AI risk as politics. We motivate solutions that do not aim for a specific outcome, but aim to find a trustworthy process by which the outcome is reached.
Carla Zoe is a Winter scholar at GovAI, working on how AI affects epistemic risks such as disinformation and coordination. She is a DPhil student, working in the Human Information Processing Lab of Professor Chris Summerfield at the University of Oxford and an affiliated researcher at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk at the University of Cambridge.
Carla's talk will be followed by a Q&A and discussion.
